Gipsy is a well-known entrepreneur, community builder, and an Order of Ottawa Awardee. She is the COO of Upper Chambers International Law Firm, Founder & Director of the World Multicultural Festival, and President & Director of the India Canada Consortium. Additionally, she serves as a Jury member for the Ottawa Distinguished Women.
Born in a modest family in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, India, she had her schooling from
Carmel High School , which is run by the Christian Missionaries .During her School days she had the
opportunity to volunteer for the sick and the needy at Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity.
With a diverse academic background, including a B.Sc. Honours degree, a law graduate (LLB) , and an
MBA in Marketing with distinction, Gipsy envisioned the development of an innovative educational
Institution in India for the proliferation of meaningful and quality education. Her vision and
perseverance came to fruition with the establishment of St. Peter’s College, Kolkata’s premier
educational institution that caters to the needs of thousands of students from all castes, creeds and
religions.
Mrs. Ghosh immigrated to Canada in 2012 and started her new innings immediately with dedication.
She has contributed significantly in unifying various communities and cultures in her lengthy and
recognized record of service to the community. She has organized successful fundraising events,
multicultural festivals, seminars , networking summits on various subjects ranging from
multicultural celebrations, indigenous inclusion & various mental health awareness programs. Her
unwavering dedication and altruistic motivation to provide the much-needed mental support to many
during the pandemic is much appreciated all over.
Mrs. Ghosh has contributed considerably on issues through her proactive deliberations on Mental
Health of Seniors & Social Isolation , Building bridges of reconciliation , Racism , Equality & Fraternity
, Religious integration in a multicultural society , small businesses in the digital era , challenges faced
by youth newcomers and many more .
Her unparalleled ever innovative contribution has helped people from all sections of life in achieving
equal inclusion in a multicultural and multi- dimensional society which is much need at this hour .
As the President of the India Canada Consortium, Gipsy has been recognized by the Indian High
Commissioner for her contributions in developing better India-Canada relations and promoting the
cause of India-Canada friendship. She has also received the Orleans Leading Women and Girl’s
Recognition Award in 2020 and Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Award in 2022 , besides being
inducted into the Order of Ottawa member .
